A Palace for Thornhill

November 2008

Maris Interiors is pleased announce this week’s completion of Thornhill Investment Management’s office relocation from 77 South Audley Street, London, W1 to 16 Palace Street, London, SW1.

Thornhill, the independent fund management company and leading private client investment manager, appointed Maris Interiors to design, fit-out and supply furniture for its new office on the top floor at 16 Palace Street, a distinctive five storey glass building they now share with P&O and 3i.

The scope of works included the fit-out of 8,500 sq ft of space incorporating 2 board rooms, additional meeting rooms to create flexibility, a presentation suite, 2 kitchens – one of which will be used by their in-house chef to cook for visiting clients, and a mixture of open plan and cellular office space.

Maris' Project Director commented, “Thornhill wanted a timeless and classic office fit-out, which would reflect their corporate image. They had already been working with their incumbent team to produce indicative layouts by the time Maris Interiors became involved in the project. Our design team radically altered all of the proposed layouts, switching visitor and staff flow in a way we felt worked better for the building and far more effectively for Thornhill. This really struck a chord and they loved the concept.”

He added, “We then worked very closely with the Landlord’s team to ensure all the appropriate permissions were in place, particularly for the kitchen extracts, to ensure the effective delivery of the project on site.”
