Maris Partner Takeda on Second Major Office Fit-Out.
January 2009
Following the successful design and fit-out of Takeda’s 26,000 sq ft of offices in Arundel Street, London, WC2 in 2005, Maris Interiors is delighted to announce that they will be working alongside the UK’s fastest growing pharmaceutical company once again.
Driven by the redevelopment of their existing building, Takeda UK have appointed Maris to relocate them from their current office to their new central London base.
The scope of works incorporates 26,000 sq ft of space across two floors including a clean, modern reception area and largely cellularised office space with open plan pockets towards the core of the building, encompassing no less than 1,000 metres of partitioning and 113 full height storage wall units!
One of the most interesting design features on the project is the extending “town hall” meeting area. Folding and sliding walls between the board room and adjacent meeting room can be removed to create a training facility which can cater for seminars for up to 80 people. A sliding glass wall then allows this room to be extended even further, revealing a space that can comfortably hold 150 people standing!
Maris' Project Director commented, “Whilst we had already successfully completed a turnkey office fit-out project for Takeda and had a strong relationship, we were up against competition to pitch for relocation works on this second job. The strength of our pitch lay in this ongoing relationship coupled with former success but fundamentally it relied on our ability to demonstrate value for money, particularly in the current financial climate. Maris is now working with Takeda’s project manager and cost consultant to deliver the project on time and on budget in the coming weeks.”
