BTG Keep it in Fleet Place with Maris

BTG, who have recently merged with Protherics to become Britain’s largest biotechnology group, have appointed Maris Interiors to fit-out their new office at 5 Fleet Place, London EC4.
Currently located at 10 Fleet Place, BTG asked Maris to analyse a shortlist of 4 buildings for them and ascertain which of them was the most suitable in terms of design layouts and projected costs. The clear winner was 5 Fleet Place, only a stone’s throw away from their existing location.
Working closely with Savills, Maris were then challenged to complete the detailed space planning and design, agree the specifications and costs and enter a fixed lump sum contract within 4 weeks to meet BTG’s programme and deadline to move. This was achieved pre-Christmas thanks to a huge team effort from all those involved. Maris' Project Director commented, “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and by retaining us at such an early stage, BTG showed an enormous amount of faith in our abilities. We look forward to repaying this and creating a superb new office for them to move in to in March.”
This prestigious turnkey design, fit-out and furniture contract will be on site for 8 weeks. The scope of works encompasses 9,000 sq ft of office space within a single floor plate. The design concept shuns the formal, traditional manned reception in favour of a welcoming client arrival area. It also incorporates a number of client meeting rooms with folding walls to allow the flexibility to open the space up to accommodate larger meetings and / or functions, a large open plan office with new furniture throughout, a staff break out area and a new fully equipped comms room.
